Deprivation points are super-added on the basis of region and gender. Admissions are exam-based but occur strictly in accordance with statutory provisions regarding reservations for socially-deprived castes and communities. The social consciousness of JNU is to enable the disempowered. JNU is an enigma for various other reasons.
